Save Your Important Contacts as Favourites

When you need to call someone quickly, every second counts. Whether it’s a family member, your GP, or a trusted neighbour, searching through hundreds of contacts isn’t ideal during an urgent situation. Taking a few minutes to organise your phone today can make it much easier to reach the right people tomorrow.
Most smartphones let you mark certain contacts as favourites. These people appear at the top of your contact list or on a dedicated favourites screen, making them much quicker to find. Consider adding close family members, your GP, your pharmacy, and anyone you would contact in an emergency.
While you’re reviewing your contacts, check that the information is still accurate. Phone numbers change over time, and it’s not uncommon to discover you’ve been holding onto outdated details for years. Remove duplicate entries and update any contact information that’s no longer correct.
It’s also helpful to add a little more information where appropriate. For example, instead of saving someone as “John,” you might use “John Smith – Neighbour,” or “Emma – Daughter.” Clear labels can be especially useful if someone else ever needs to use your phone on your behalf.
Don’t forget about important services. Saving the numbers for roadside assistance, your bank, your electricity provider, or your doctor’s surgery means you won’t have to search online when you need them. Having these details ready can be particularly helpful if you’re travelling or dealing with an unexpected problem.
If you’re not sure how to create favourites on your phone, ask a family member, friend, or staff member at your local phone retailer. It usually takes only a minute or two, and once it’s set up, you’ll use it far more often than you might expect.
Your smartphone is there to make life easier. A little organisation today can save valuable time when you need to make an important call.
